It is hard to convey the joy of watching elephants delight in taking a mud bath or roaming free in the bush – you quite simply have to see it for yourself! We stayed in some excellent lodges, saw all of the Big Five and made some nice friends along the way. Kogelo Tours aim to make your tour as relaxed as possible and are very flexible to your personal needs. Safaris are hot, dusty, sleep depriving and just wonderful!! They are an amazing experience.

Tim is always in control of any situation and can ‘fix it’. He knows ‘real ‘ Kenya like the back of his hand and is able to plan fabulous trips off the beaten track

As a young woman I was a bit apprehensive about travelling to Kenya, there were a lot of unknowns. However, Kogelo tours made me feel safe but more importantly enabled me to focus on enjoying the experience and creating amazing memories. My highlights were definitely the game reserves and seeing the animals (the resorts are amazing) in addition to visiting the local schools and the help Kogelo tours provides  for the local communities.

My favorite part of the tour was definitely the train ride! Leaving the chaotic Nairobi at night, slowly winding through the different communities and then waking up to the lush green plains of the countryside. The people we met also made this trip really unique and special, travelling with Kogelo tours was something I will always remember.

Best memories were; meeting Grandma Obama,  seeing elephants in their natural environment and in the orphanage,  having breakfast in the garden at Martha’s Guest House,  visiting the children in the orphanage, visiting the school in Kibera, oh and also meeting the young man we sponsor.

I would recommend trip to anyone with sense of adventure and who really would like to help people have a better opportunity in life.

Tip: I was concered how I would cope with the heat, learned that wetting my hat before I put it in was a good way of dealing with it!
